How It Works

Family life can be a whirlwind, whether you're juggling school, work, or just trying to enjoy quality time together. Don’t stress, I’ve got you covered and promise to make this whole process as easy and fun as possible (yep, we’re talking no-stress, full-family fun).

1. Book your perfect session

First, we’ll chat about your ideal session—whether that’s outdoor adventures around Pittsburgh or a chill vibe in the studio. Once we pick your perfect location, we’ll plan everything around your family's schedule. Simple!

2. Session Day is here!

On the day, just show up and enjoy! We’ll warm up with some casual shots, then dive into all those natural moments that make your family, well, your family. From the big belly laughs to those quiet, sweet moments, we’ll make sure your personalities shine.

3. Relax and enjoy the ride

I’ll handle the details - posing, lighting, and everything in between. You just focus on having fun and soaking up the moments with your crew!

Questions

Where do family portrait sessions take place?

Family Sessions take place at my studio in Charleroi or at a location of your choice. Some frequently requested spots include: South Park, North Park, Hartwood Acres, Mellon Park, Point State Park, Mingo Creek, Robin Hill Park, Downtown Pittsburgh, Mt Washington, or your home.

How do we prepare our kids for the session?

The best way to prepare your children for the session is to make sure their faces are clean and they have full bellies. Give yourself enough time to not be rushing. If you are calm, they will be calm. Talk positively about the upcoming session and letting me know if there are any tips you have to help interact with the children. Ie: they’re shy, they like Miss Rachel. All of it will be on your questionnaire.

How far in advance should we book?

If you have a specific date you need I would book as soon as possible. You can book your session up to 7 days before. The more styling guide you need the further out you should book.

What if the weather is bad?

I reschedule for rain the morning of 3-4 hours prior to the session. You never know if the weatherman is telling the truth. If you are uncomfortable with the forecast and prefer to reschedule, you may 24 hours prior to the session. Just message me with the request and an alternative time. If it’s a wash out and has been raining for days, we will just reschedule the day before.

Who can be included in the session?

Your immediate family is parents and their children and pets. Grandparents are not immediate family nor are aunts or uncles. For the generation sessions, those include everyone in your extended family - no number limit.
